What is iPad and How it changed Technology

The first ever Apple iPad was released by Apple on April, 2010. It was an instant hit with over 3 million devices sold within first 80 days while over 14.8 million devices sold around the globe. The credit to its success goes to Apple brand name and its previous mega successes like Mac Notebook, iPod and iPhone. The stats itself tell the story how popular Apple is.

The 2nd release of iPad is called Apple iPad 2 and it was a hit as well which arrived in market on March 2011, both the devices have 1GHz processor. Apple A4 in iPad and Apple A5 in iPad 2. Memory in First Gen is 256 and 512 in 2nd Gen. The devices comes with iOS and Graphics Cards, Camera and Wi-Fi connectivity along with Bluetooth also.

After the first release of Apple iPad, many other companies like Acer, Samsung, Dell etc started releasing their similar touch pad devices. We can say that just like Apple’s iPhone, the iPad started a new technology war between many Hardware making companies and hence started the Patent war as well.

Recently Apple released an Ad showing What is iPad? You can see this Ad from Apple website here.

iPad is basically a mix of Laptop and a smart phone. Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs wanted the device to be at least 10 inch display because according to him, a 7 inch display would have been very small to display and express the software.

Similar to iPhone, this device is multitouch and uses Capacitive liquid display. So this means that it is controlled via fingers and not with styli or pen. Although there comes special style and gloved made for these kind of display screens.

iPad comes with a SIM slot as well and it feels like a laptop, which fulfills the latop+cellphone feel. Many new applications are developed every day and the Software industry have grown a lot after the release of iPad and similar devices. Release of such devices means more and more advancement in technology and resulting in more technology jobs as well.

This device syncs with Windows or Mac if it contains iTunes. Also the new iCloud technology supports iPad as well. Several application of iPad are enhanced version of applications that were available in iPhone and Mac. Few of these applications include YouTube, iPod, App Store, iTunes, Notes, Maps, iBooks and Spotlight Search.

Just like iPhone, this can be Jailbroken as well. Because Apple is very strict on its applications and most are paid apps therefore hackers are forced to release jailbreak methods to be able to install Cydia and other pirated apps.

The iPad is used a lot in our life, such as in office workplaces it is linked to the goal of increasing productivity, reduced paperwork and ease of carry, compared to laptops. All these helping to increase the mobile-office application market especially in North America and Europe.

In internet many blogs, forums and iPad forum etc have been created and people discus and express further enhancements, jailbreak methods, development, games and other issues related to this device.

In education iPad serves several enhanced methods for students and especially for homeschooling. It is also considered a helping tool for children with autism. Similarly it is helpful in Sports industry with players watching tactics etc with more ease and in Travel industry with Alaska Airlines becoming first airline to replace paper manuals of pilots with Apple’s iPads (Howzzat?)

What iPhone did to Lifestyle, Internet, Blogs, Forums and Social Media

It was 2007 and Apple released its first ever iPhone. It then became an astonishing and distinct Cell Phone Family with further releases of iPhone series. Apple CEO Steve Jobs directed his engineers to complete the iPhone in 2005 and this project completed in 2007. The iPhone went on sale in the United States on June 29, 2007, at 6:00 pm local time, while hundreds of customers lined up outside the stores nationwide. The first iPhone was made available in the UK, France, and Germany in November 2007, and Ireland and Austria in the spring of 2008. (wikipedia)

But what does that initial release changed in our world? Well many things, including life style, much more mobile buying, better web experience in smart phones and a war of companies to release comparative Operating Systems and Cell Phones.

We then saw the Release of Android Operating System, and also the new Windows Phone 7. Although Windows Operating system for mobiles existed but they either operated on a Resistive Touch screen that required a pen, or on mobiles with no touch screen.

Apple iPhone made touch screen to new era with Capacitive touch screen which ran brilliantly with thumb and no Pen was needed. The earlier competitor with Apple was BlackBerry but no way in design or functionality were both similar. It was mostly the ease and services they were providing. Now a days Apple finds competition in Android and Windows Phone 7 and also mobile companies that make cell phone for these operating systems like HTC, Samsung, LG, Sony Ericsson and Motorola.

With the release of this wonderful cell phone came many technology changes, as the phone came locked to only one carrier AT&T (although now it comes with Verizon also) and most of the applications were paid. Hackers started jailbreaking and unlocking this device and introduced a famous software name Cydia which runs inside iPhone. We can say that with the release of iPhone, the hacking world stepped up its speed because other OS like Android and Windows normally are much open than Apple’s iOS. Many Mobile Phone makers tried to break or Kill the iPhone and hence the world was looking for an iPhone killer for years but still many people believe that not a single mobile phone has killed the iPhone yet. Although now Android and Windows Phone 7cell phones are becoming more and more popular in the world because of its cheaper price and different design.

What effect this device from Apple made on the internet world is worth mentioning here as well. After the arrival of iPhone series came all the discussions and analysis on iPhone Forum and many other forums and Blogs. And also now websites consider making Touch Phone friendly versions because of the popularity of Touch Screen phones. Social Media websites like twitter and facebook have gained a lot from Apple iPhone and Also iPhone have gained a lot from Social Media websites, so both parties are responsible for the success of each other. Mobile gaming also went to advanced level with the release of iPhone, which contained high end Graphics card. Although now it seems Microsoft has gone very advanced in Windows Phone gaming, but we will have to see what the new iPhone 5 brings out.

One more thing that came after Apple’s Cell phone release was the Patent War. Nokia’s claim on Apple and Apple’s claims on Nokia and Samsung are one of the few famous ones. Now Apple is looking to introduce new technology to its devices, technologies like iCloud; which is like a Network hub. Through this technology a user can sync though its various Apple devices running Mac OSX or iOS like, Mac Notebook, iPhone and iPad etc.

As the world becomes GPS-linked now and also Google Maps linked, many expectations are from Google and Apple to bring real good to the end user.

New Version of Facebook for iPhone Launched

Just few days after new version of Facebook for Android, now Facebook for iPhone ver 3.4.3 is launched, this update fixes many bugs and enhanced security.

Facebook refrained from providing a change log or a list of enhancements and improvements. The update app is said to be more secure than its previous versions and more or less delivers the same user experience as seen on the previous version of the app.

Facebook for iPhone is without a doubt one of the most widely used iPhone apps, and also Facebook’s one of the most downloaded mobile app in comparison with Android and WP7 operating systems. The application delivers an absolute enhanced Facebook experience on the iPhone completed with news feeds, chats, photo uploads, games and more.

This app is compatible with Apple iPad and Apple iPod touch but the words are in the air of a separate application for iPad users. We will have to wait and see if it is true.

As said on Application page: “Facebook for iPhone makes it easy to stay connected and share information with friends. Use your iPhone to start a conversation with Facebook Chat, check your friends’ latest photos and status updates, look up a phone number, or upload your own mobile photos to Facebook while on the go.”

The company is said to be working on a desktop client which can introduce Facebook video chat service that would be seen as an in-browser feature and can replace the traditional text-only chatting tool now offered by Facebook. Never the less this new application is a must have for all the Facebook addicts owning an Apple Hand held device.

It is yet to see how people response to this update, but many users believe the changes were useless and they don’t like this update. Please let us know how you find this?

Apple iPhone 5 Launching in September

Apple iPhone 5 would have same base design as of iPhone 4 according to reports

According to reports – Apple iPhone 5 is on the way to be released in September 2011. Sources say that it will have same form factor as of iPhone 4, with Camera could be 8 Mega Pixel (iPhone 4 had 5 MP Camera).

Apple iPhone 5 version will have latest Apple iOS 5, which includes the iCloud capability, allowing users to sync data between different Apple devices,  updating phone without PC connectivity, twitter and photo sharing etc.

These reports are coming rapidly now on various news websites. While we know Apple’s behavior to play it cool. That’s why fans would have to wait and see how much of this is true.

Apple unleashes new iCloud System

APPLE launched the iCloud yesterday. It is a web-based system allowing users to share data between computers, laptops, smartphones and tablets.
Chief executive Steve Jobs told the Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco: “Keeping those devices in sync is driving us crazy.
“We are going to move the digital hub, the centre of your digital life, into the cloud.”
Apple also plan to slash mobile phone bills with their new iMessage system, which offers users of iPhones, iPads and iPods unlimited free texts.
The iCloud will be a free service storing user information from several devices, making sure the same contacts, calendar events and files are available on all of them.
It also backs up the data on Apple’s servers – so songs bought from iTunes and kept on your home computer will now be available to play wherever you are on another computer or mobile.
For an extra fee, the iTunes Match service will also scan users’ hard drives for songs taken from other sources and make them available anywhere through the iCloud.
Experts say cloud computing will revolutionise the way we use the internet in our everyday lives.
Instead of your home computer needing a hard drive full of data and installed programmes, all that’s required is an internet connection.
This could bring down the cost of computers sharply, and with broadband speeds increasing, more and more will be possible on the Net.
There are disadvantages – many users will be concerned about whether the new system is secure enough – but the iCloud could also have a major effect on the battle against music piracy, creating a lucrative new source of revenue for record labels.
Apple have also developed a new system called iMessage which will be built into all mobile Apple devices from this autumn.
It will allow instant messages including texts, pictures and video to be sent for free using wi-fi or the phone’s 3G data network.
The services will bypass a phone’s traditional text messaging system – potentially saving hundreds of pounds on an annual mobile phone bill.
But the new service looks likely to put Apple on a collision course with mobile phone networks, which could lose billions of pounds in revenue.

Apple Fixes an important iPhone Problem

Last week Apple talked about the location database that triggered lawsuits and investigative hearings both here and abroad. The fix, in a free software update for iPhones and iPads called iOS 4.3.3, arrived Wednesday afternoon.
According to Apple, the 666.2MB update, its largest, updates three issues: it reduces the size of the location database cache, stops backing the cache up to iTunes, and deletes the cache entirely when Location Services is turned off. We have tested these claims and found this to be mostly true.

The fix, which Apple announced last week, comes in the form of a free update to the iOS operating system that runs on the iPhone and other Apple mobile devices including the iPad. Owners of such devices can install the iOS update when they sync them to iTunes on their computers.

This covers one of a major iPhone Problem and we will hope in future for more of these type of fix.

Apple iPhone4 Review

One of the most commonly asked questions by people these days is weather should I buy an iPhone 4. When a discussion comes upon Apple products, opinion of people is divided on one corner we have Apple enthusiast enjoying technology innovation and aesthetics but the other side presenting Apple as control freaks who are selling limited features by  superior marketing, convincing there customer on visual appeal.

Apple iPhone 4 is the latest smart phone offering by Apple. iPhone 4G features are to be viewed and discussed before buying one but the question remains Why iPhone. So here is how we can help you decide. We will have a look at what iPhone is offering and then we are going to compare it with the competitor’s offerings. So the first argument is in favour of buying iPhone.

iPhone 4G has a 640×960 pixels Retina Eye display. This is the best resolution available in the market and no other device offers sharper image then this. Apple store offers more then 300,000 iPhone applications including games and entertainment or pretty much any other activity you enjoy doing. iPhone 4G has iOS4.0 operating system that supports multitasking a thing which was not previously offered by Apple devices.

iPhone 4G comes with a secondary camera facing front with the phone. This feature enables you to video call. But this can only be done using WiFi with some one also using iOS4.0. iPhone 4G has rest of the slandered features present on it. It could be use for recording HD videos, the visual appeal and design is also very exceptional.

These are some reasons that are compelling one to spend his money on iPhone 4G. Now to complete our argument we discuss the other side of it for not buying an iPhone 4G. The biggest limitation of using an iPhone is that it needs Apple iTunes to transfer videos and music unlike symbians android and other operating systems where you just drag and drop also iPhone does not play all audio and video format so you might have to look for converters to transfer your music.

Antenna-gate is a problem faced my iPhone uses. The device significantly drops network signals when it is held in a certain way. This has resulted in major drop in there stocks. The camera interface not so special on iPhone 4G and offers only limited features but there are applications that can enhance its features. Also there is no hardware shutter for camera on the device. iPhone Forum, iPhone Problem, iPhone Support Fast Answers from iPhone Experts…Guaranteed!!!!

The device does not support flash content browsing on web due to their deal with Adobe. But again flash content makes browsing slow. Other smart phones are provided with option to increase storage space by adding microSD slot but if you buy 16GB model then you are stuck with that much space or buy 64GB iPhone. The provided information should help you make up your mind why you should or should not buy iPhone 4G. Different people have different requirements for a smart phone and no device can please everyone. You should know your usage needs and take an informed decision.

Latest Trends in Mobiles

We don’t need any public survey to say that in 2011 people are not alien to the concept of mobile phones with the entrance of new hand held devices like ipad, and Motorola Zoom, in the market and the development of Android people would not mind spending little extra money to stay up to date with the latest technology. But when we talk about accessing the internet from a smart phone certainly takes the edge in latest mobile trends. Now here is a survey reveling that till the end of 2011, 85% of the smart phone that are going to be shipped will be equipped with browser settings. This shows that mobile internet is demanded by people of all ages.

So what we should be expecting to see in the mobile sets of 2011, what are the trends that will be dominating the mobile market around the world. Lets start with I phone 4 which has introduced mobile to mobile technology. The iPhone 4 come with face time video calling that has raised the mobile communication to it its peaks. Another survey shows that by 2015, 29 million users would be using video calling facilities. The forums iPhone Forum, iPhone Support and iPhone Problem are a great resource for all your queries.

Another thing to eye on will be the Android and iphone fiasco, in last year, Android monopolized market shares and iphone took the toll and was beaten by a margin of 4%. Now it is expected that “Verizon” might take over iphone so it could help iphone recapture the market share but the same time android will also come up with various applications so it would be a very close fight. e. Sale Spot!!! Selling made easier than ever. Mobiles for Sale Pakistan

Mobile viewing will change the traditional ways of viewing videos on desktops the magical as the e-marketers call it will rise to 23.9 million by the end of 2010 and is estimated to be doubled by the end of 2013. And the jaw opening free Wi-Fi is expected to be provided to public places. Time square and Miami Beach recently had introduced these programs. This would allow more people to use internet in public places and would reduce the cost of mobile internet.

Mobile SEO will be the needed soon as a website only on internet would not be good enough and traditional SEO techniques would not work on mobile browsers so they would be designed according to the algorithms that are followed by mobile browsers.

And evolution in the touch screen technology would take the mobile design to the next level. In the beginning the whole concept was met with ridicule but it has changed the whole mobile design concepts and there is great development being made that might further push it to the new limits. This is creating new challenges for mobile website designers to make then touch screen user friendly while it’s very heard for developers of all kind to keep up with the changing trends.
